Parents: It is most helpful if you look over the Gospel Weekly before you begin working with your child in order get a sense of what the message is for the upcoming weekend at Mass. You'll also be able to know if you need extra materials such as scissors or glue.
Once you're ready to sit with your child/children, make sure you have on hand a Bible, the Gospel Weekly, and a pencil or pen. Start by reading the upcoming Sunday's Gospel together, which should be indicated on the top of the first or second left hand page of the Gospel Weekly.
From here, you can either work through the Gospel Weekly cover to cover, or pick and choose which pages and activities will be most engaging for your family and allow you to best understand the message of the Gospel that we are asked to live out through the lesson.
